We're building a better way
to buy and sell homes

Pinkmelon is a California residential real estate brokerage reinventing the home transaction experience with technology at its core. Buying and selling a home still involves a lot of manual, repetitive operational work. Pinkmelon acquires customers through marketing and technology and is building an operating model where agents can focus on client consultations, transactions, negotiation, and customer experience rather than personal prospecting.

We are currently based in Irvine, operating mainly across Orange County and supporting Los Angeles County as needed. As the service grows, we plan to hire more team members to lead each area and expand our regional operations.

For Customers

We deliver value — cash back for buyers and a 1% listing fee for sellers — to create a more reasonable and transparent transaction experience.

For Agents

We use workflow, data, technology, and AI to reduce repetitive work so agents can focus on the work where their expertise matters most, like client consultations and negotiation.

Why this role matters,
More than closing transactions

A Pinkmelon agent is a little different from a typical prospecting-driven salesperson.

The company handles marketing and customer acquisition, while agents meet buyers and sellers directly and focus on client representation and transaction execution. Both matter: the agent's client-facing experience — consultations, showings, offers, negotiation — and their transaction coordination and operations skills across contracts, disclosures, escrow, contingencies, timelines, and closing.

But no one person needs to have every skill perfected from day one. We aim for a team where people strong in client representation and negotiation and people strong in transaction coordination and operations share their experience and build a better operating model together. We also spot where clients struggle and where transactions get delayed in the field, and turn work that can be standardized or automated into real process improvements.

The way you work today can become the Pinkmelon standard tomorrow.

We're looking for builders,
not just agents

Rather than just following a set process, we're looking for people who understand real transactions and build better ways of doing them. We don't require a specific career path or background. Anyone with experience in buyer/seller representation or in transaction coordination and operations is welcome.

We're looking for people who bring their own strengths, learn each other's areas, and want to build a new way of operating in real estate together.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hold an active California Real Estate Salesperson or Broker license
  • Able to work under Pinkmelon Brokerage after onboarding
  • One or more years of hands-on residential real estate experience
  • Hands-on experience in buyer representation, listings, or transaction coordination
  • Understanding of the showing, offer, contract, negotiation, escrow, disclosure, and closing process
  • Understanding of key compliance items such as the Buyer Representation Agreement and Agency Disclosure
  • Able to communicate directly with clients and move transactions forward
  • Able to handle field work such as property visits, open houses, and local marketing
  • Able to work in Irvine and, when needed, do field work across Orange County and Los Angeles County
  • Available for evening and weekend work as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience personally leading a buyer or seller transaction from start to finish
  • Hands-on experience performing transaction coordination or operations
  • Understanding of both buyer/listing agent work and transaction coordination
  • Familiarity with the Orange County or Los Angeles County residential market
  • Experience personally running open houses and property marketing

  • Experience using a CRM or transaction management software
  • A mindset for exploring and testing better ways of working with technology, data, and AI
  • Ability to communicate in an additional language such as Korean, Spanish, or Mandarin

What you'll do

Walk clients through the entire residential real estate transaction while also helping design how Pinkmelon operates.

Client Representation & Transaction

Understand the goals and priorities of the buyers and sellers Pinkmelon connects you with, and act as the primary point of contact throughout the transaction.

Guide buyers through the purchase — from showings, offers, and negotiation to inspection, contingencies, escrow, and closing — and lead sellers through the sale, from pricing strategy, listing, and offer review to negotiation and closing.

Review contracts and disclosures, manage key timelines, and collaborate with escrow, title, lenders, and other parties to keep the transaction moving smoothly.

Agency & Compliance

Understand and comply with key compliance requirements such as the Buyer Representation Agreement and Agency Disclosure.

When dual agency arises, handle it precisely in accordance with applicable disclosure and written consent requirements.

Open House & Local Marketing

Run open houses yourself, engage with prospective buyers, and take part in the on-the-ground work that listings and property marketing require.

This isn't a desk-only role — you understand and experience clients, properties, and the local market firsthand in the field.

Build How We Work

Draw on real transaction experience to build and refine workflows, checklists, playbooks, and customer communication standards together with the team.

Go beyond handling recurring problems to find their root causes and think about what can be standardized or automated. Where technology and AI can help, work with the product and technology teams to put those improvements into everyday practice.

Company-led Customer Acquisition

Pinkmelon invests in marketing, technology, and customer acquisition.

Rather than spending most of their time on personal prospecting, agents work from company-generated opportunities so they can focus more on client representation, transaction execution, and customer experience.

People with different strengths — client representation and negotiation, transaction operations, process and technology — share their experience and work as one team.

Starting in Irvine

The founding team is based primarily in Irvine, operating mainly across Orange County and supporting clients and transactions in Los Angeles County as needed.

As the service grows, we plan to expand regional teams and operations alongside it.

Given the nature of residential real estate, some evening or weekend work may come up around showing, open house, and closing schedules; work schedules are managed in line with company policy and applicable California wage-and-hour requirements.

Why join Pinkmelon

Salary, Not Commission-Only*

We offer a W-2 annual base salary ($60K–$200K), not commission-only. Instead of chasing personal prospecting or monthly closing counts, you can focus on the customer experience and the quality of each transaction.

*

The salary range ($60,000–$200,000) is the annual base salary range Pinkmelon anticipates for this position. Actual compensation within the range is determined by considering the candidate's relevant experience, transaction and operations expertise, seniority, role scope, and responsibility level. Roles and compensation may differ between a developing team member and a senior-level team member who takes on broader operational responsibility based on extensive transaction experience.

Build the Business from Day One

As part of the founding team, you help design and improve Pinkmelon's transaction process, customer experience, and agent workflow. You turn the problems and ideas you find in the field into a better way of operating.

Spend More Time with Clients

Technology and AI reduce repetitive work so you can focus more on the things where human judgment and experience matter — client consultations, showings, negotiation, open houses, and closings.

Grow Your Career with Pinkmelon

As the company and service grow, opportunities open up to take on broader roles and responsibilities. We discuss your career path and compensation together, in step with your role, your results, and the company's growth.

Hiring Process

Step 2

Intro Call

We introduce Pinkmelon's direction and the role, and talk about your experience and the work you're looking for.

Step 3

Experience Interview

We focus on your real transaction experience — how you communicated with clients, how you solved problems, and how you've thought about and improved the way you work.

Step 4

Offer, License & Brokerage Onboarding

We finalize the role and terms and verify your California DRE license status. We then complete the brokerage affiliation and onboarding required to perform licensed activities at Pinkmelon.
